The largest new home community we work in

Homestead at Parks Bell Ranch is the biggest of the communities we serve, and it is still growing. Two pools, three playgrounds, a soccer field, a splash pad, a community center and walking paths, inside a wider Parks Bell Ranch development that is planned to bring in shopping, city parks and schools.

Floor plans range from around 1,450 square feet up to nearly 2,900, single story and two story, three to five bedrooms. That spread matters for landscaping, because a 1,450 square foot home and a 2,850 square foot home on similar lots leave you with very different amounts of back yard.

Two ZIP codes, one community

Homestead spans both 79765 and 79762 as the development has grown. It is one community, and we serve all of it. If you are unsure which section you are in, the address is enough for us to work from.

What is included and what is not

D.R. Horton's standard specification here matches the rest of their Midland and Odessa communities. Front yard landscaped with a low maintenance design and an irrigation system. Back yard fully fenced. Covered patio in place. Ground behind the patio bare.

So the question in Homestead is never whether you need to landscape the back. It is what goes on the ground and how far the concrete extends.

Matching the community standard

Homestead is a community where the amenities are finished to a high standard and the streets are well kept. Back yards here tend to follow suit, and homeowners regularly tell us they want theirs to sit alongside their neighbors' rather than being the unfinished one on the street.

The specification that most often achieves that:

A concrete extension off the covered patio, stamped or stained, giving an open air area next to the covered one.

Artificial turf as the main surface, laid level to the concrete edge so there is no step and no strip of dirt between the two.

Decorative rock to the perimeter, properly edged so it stays where it was put, with the fence line treated as part of the design rather than left as a gap.

Feature elements where the yard allows it: boulder placement, a pergola off the patio, or bed shapes that give the yard structure rather than leaving it as one flat rectangle.

Larger floor plans, smaller yards

On the bigger Homestead floor plans, the house takes more of the lot and the back yard that remains is compact. Small yards need more care, not less. Every edge is visible, every transition is seen from the house, and there is nowhere for a rough finish to hide.

We treat small Homestead yards as detail work: clean lines, level transitions between surfaces, proper edging, and no wasted space.

Frequently Asked Questions

Both. The community spans two ZIP codes as it has expanded. We serve all sections of it.

No. The front yard is landscaped with irrigation, the back yard is fully fenced and a covered patio is included. The ground behind the patio is bare.

Small yards are the ones where quality of finish matters most, because every edge and transition is visible from inside the house. There is nowhere for a rough job to hide.

Yes. Pergolas are a common addition here, particularly where homeowners want shade beyond the covered area without pouring more concrete.

Common area irrigation is separate from your property. Your own front yard system is the builder installed one, and we locate and protect it before working anywhere near it.

Yes, including Deer Meadows, and we work throughout Odessa generally.
